Picasa Web Albums

This page describes how to make use of your Picasa web albums on EquiPortal.
Picasa Web Albums offer a free hosting service for your photos. Simply upload your pictures and share them with your friends. Once uploaded you can also use your photos in our forums, equine articles and photo albums.

General Tips

• Sign up for free at: http://picasaweb.google.co.uk∞
• Click the button to create a new album, ensure you leave it set to public access.
• Click the button to upload photos and simply select the photos to upload from your PC's hard disk.

Add a photo to an article

• View your photo in Picasa
• Click "Link to this photo".
• Choose the size. I suggest small or medium.
• Copy the contents of the box: "HTML to embed in website".
• Edit your Equine Article.
• Paste your copied text surrounded by ""

e.g.

Add a photo to the forum

• Copy the "HTML to embed in website" as described above.
• Edit your forum posting.
• Insert the following text [url=xxx][img]yyy[/img][/url], replacing xxx with the first bold text in the previous example and yyy with the second bold text.

e.g.

Add your album to our Equine Photo Album

• View your album in Picasa.
• Click "Link to this Album".
• Copy the contents of the box: "Paste HTML to embed in website".
• Go to http://www.EquiPortal.co.uk∞
• Add the Equine Photo Album gadget to the homepage if it is not already shown.
• Click the Add Album button.
• Enter a Title and description for your album, then paste your copied text in to the "HTML to Embed" box.
• Press the Update button to add your album.
