For the Beijing Olympics 2008


How Dressage is judged:
Dressage for the Olympics is by far the most subjective for judging.The FEI rules set standards for each gait and element of the dressage test. 5 judges will sit around the dressage arena and mark each element of the dressage test, awarding a score between 0 -10. The ideal score is 100%.

Dressage Rules:
Horse and rider must be wearing the correct tack and dress

Disqualification and Penalties:
Disqualification All four hooves land outside the dressage arena
Disqualification Horse refuses to perform for more than 20 seconds
Disqualification Horse or rider falls
Penalties Rider goes off track
Penalties Rider does not salute properly
Penalties Other minor infractions
